We get the base right
Most tile damage starts underneath the tile. We spend the time where you cannot see it — on the falls, the membrane and the fixing.
Tiling · Masonry · Levelling · Membrane
From the waterproof membrane to the last grouted tile. Alma Service handles the whole build-up of your wet room — or just the layer you need help with.
“Quality at every step”
We take jobs across the area. A no-obligation chat on the phone.
Services
A wet room is built from the bottom up. We have listed the services in the order they are actually carried out — you can book the whole build-up, or a single layer.
Approved liquid-applied membrane on floor and wall, reinforced at corners, transitions and around the drain. This is the layer that keeps the water where it belongs.
Levelling and smoothing the floor to a flat substrate with the correct fall towards the drain. Without an even base, grout cracks and tiles sit unevenly.
Building walls, shower niches, benches and built-in solutions. We build the structure so it takes both the moisture load and the weight of the tile.
Tiling floors and walls in every format, from mosaic to large-format. Precise setting, straight grout lines and a clean finish against trims and fittings.

How we work
You should know what happens, and when. This is what a normal project looks like with us.
We come to you, look at the room, measure up and hear what you have in mind. No obligation.
You get an itemised price covering what is included — and what is not. No surprises along the way.
Dust screening, covering and tidying up every day. The same contact person throughout, and any change is agreed before it is carried out.
We walk through the room together. You get the photographs from the work beneath the tile, and the documentation for the materials used.
Why us
Most tile damage starts underneath the tile. We spend the time where you cannot see it — on the falls, the membrane and the fixing.
You get the same contact person from the site visit to the handover. No detours through a switchboard.
A written quote stating what is included and what is not. Changes are agreed before they are carried out.
Dust screening, covering and daily tidying. A building project should not take over your whole home.
Assurance
A bathroom is one of the most expensive things you renovate, and most of the work disappears under the tile. So we document it.
Membrane, falls and drain are photographed before the tile goes on. You get the photographs at handover — they are worth a great deal if you sell later.
Data sheets and maintenance instructions for the materials used — in Norway this is called FDV documentation — collected and handed over as one pack.
The Norwegian Craftsman Services Act gives you five years to report defects in work on real property. That is a statutory right — not something we invented.
Registration with Fagrådet for våtrom, the Norwegian wet room council, is what customers are told to check.
[TODO: confirm — apply at fagradet.no, or delete this card]Craft certificates in the masonry and tiling trades.
[TODO: confirm — which certificates, and held by whom?]Insurance covering damage to the building while we are working there.
[TODO: confirm — insurer and company registration number]All work is carried out to current Norwegian wet room requirements.

About us
Alma Service is a trade company specialising in tiling, masonry, floor levelling and waterproof membrane work. We work for private customers, housing cooperatives and contractors, and take on both small repairs and complete wet room projects.
We believe in doing a few things properly rather than many things halfway. So we stick to what we do best: the substrate, the membrane, the masonry and the tile. Get the base right and the rest lasts for decades.
All work is carried out to current wet room requirements, and we document it as we go, so your paperwork is in order if you ever sell.
Questions and answers
The price is driven by the number of square metres, the tile format, how much has to be stripped out, and whether the substrate needs rebuilding. Large-format tile and mosaic take more labour than standard formats. We always give an itemised written price after a site visit, so you know what is included before you decide.
A normal bathroom takes three to five weeks from strip-out to finished room. Much of that is drying time — levelling compound and membrane have to cure before the next layer can go on, and that time cannot be shortened without the quality suffering. You get a schedule together with the quote.
As a rule no, as long as you are renovating an existing wet room without moving walls or altering load-bearing structures. If you are building a new bathroom in a room that has not been a wet room before, or making changes to the structure or the pipework, the work may require an application. Check with your municipality if you are unsure — we are happy to help assess what applies to your project.
You get photographs of the work beneath the tile — particularly the membrane, the falls and the drain — together with product data sheets and maintenance documentation for the materials used. These are the papers a surveyor and a buyer will ask for if you sell later, and they are worth keeping.
Five years. The Norwegian Craftsman Services Act gives you five years to report defects in work on real property that is intended to last substantially longer than two years. If you find something you believe is wrong, get in touch and we will come and look at it.
Both. We take on replacing single tiles, re-grouting, membrane over a limited area and building a shower niche, just as readily as complete wet rooms. Give us a call and we will tell you honestly whether the job is one we are the right firm for.
Contact
Send us a couple of lines about what you need and we will get back to you — normally within 24 hours. If you have photographs of the room they help a great deal; you can e-mail them afterwards.
